Welcome to Comrie Cottage
Comrie Cottage, which originates from 1816, is situated on the outskirts of the quaint and peaceful village of Comrie. It is just a 10 minute walk from the centre of the village and enjoys a quiet situation on an open area of grassland. The cottage has a private back garden with garden table and seating for your relaxation.
Comrie itself is situated on the banks of the beautiful River Earn, with it's colourful Dalginross Bridge and the famous "White Church" on the northern banks. Comrie got it's name about the 7-8th century from the Gaelic "comn struth" which basically means a convergence of rivers, in this case the Rivers Earn, Ruchill and Lednock.
The village has a host of delightful shops to be browsed and, for the more energetic, there is a tremendous range of walks within the immediate area and Highland Perthshire itself. And when it comes to golf, Perthshire is hard to beat with almost forty courses available from Comrie's own 9-hole course to the nearby world famous Gleneagles.
If it's a relaxing holiday you're after then you need look no further than Comrie which, at it's most colourful in spring and summer, is a regular contender for the annual national Village in Bloom competition. It is also an excellent base for touring Perthshire and Scotland with trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Pitlochry, Argyllshire, Oban or Fort William all possible within the same day.
